Winters Jewel

A picture perfect scene
Glorious and glimmering
A lake so serene
Like your tears, it was shimmering

Warm soul, bright spirit
You were stolen away
By the harshness it conveys
And to its beauty you did sway

Though never did we think
That this beauty could fade
As it took you from me
The water turned a darker shade

Like liquidised rubies
It continues to flow
Horrifically elegant
With the pale, white snow

No longer shall you suffer
The winter, it was kind
Yet selfishly it took you
And left me behind.
